  10. WHAT is The Voyager Crusade? The
  11. concept is simple, it is to design and
  12. program an original, innovative, but
  13. above all playable game using the
  14. technology from the golden age of
  15. video gaming. Nowadays game designers
  16. have 3d graphics, FMV and surround
  17. sound to play with, and too often we
  18. see games that look fantastic, but
  19. lack that all important holy grail of
  20. gamingEplayability. This is a
  21. challenge to all up-and-coming game
  22. designersEshow us you can still do it!
  23. The Voyager Crusade is the brainchild
  24. of Jonathan Thompson aka "JT", the man
  25. behind the "Voyager" arcade cabinets
  26. and game systems . The company
  27. supplies game machines to many top
  28. retailers, including Firebox.com and
  29. Selfridges & Co. The machines are also
  30. popular with celebrities, you can find
  31. Voyager cabinets in the homes of
  32. several Hollywood stars, and David
  33. Beckham recently took delivery of his
  34. very own custom gold cabinet ! You'll
  35. find Voyager cabinets everywhere,
  36. museums, film premieres, exhibitions
  37. and more traditional venues like
  38. hotels and pubs and night clubs
  39. including the well known Cult TV chain
  40. clubs "FAB CAFI".

  43. THIS is NOT a competition to be passed
  44. over lightly; in fact if you want
  45. exposure for your talents, this is an
  46. opportunity not to be missed!   The
  47. competition is open to amateur
  48. programmers from all over the world,
  49. however you must be aged 18 upwards!

  54. IF your program is chosen as the
  55. winner you will have your game
  56. included on the Voyager Arcade System,
  57. so your game will get exposure to a
  58. huge audience! What an advert and
  59. something to add to your portfolio!

  61. promote your games on, to other
  62. companies and also a customized one
  63. off Classic Games Machine designed to
  64. show off your games to potential
  65. clients.  Thanks to Joystick Junkies
  66. you will also get a special
  67. T-Shirt...This will be one of the top
  68. of the range JT Machine Cabinet. Only
  69. a few of these top of the range
  70. cabinets exist and they are all
  71. bespoke designs! A collector's item

  109. WELL the game must be retro in
  110. style... The game must be simple, fun
  111. for all ages and easy to play.
  112. Remember the games "Space Invaders",
  113. "Bomb", "Mr Do", "Pacman", "Starwars"
  114. and other games like "Spy Hunter";
  115. well these are the types of games we
  116. want to see.  Simple, fun and nothing
  117. special, but it must be your original
  118. concept.   The games must be
  119. programmed to work on a PC Based
  120. machine running Windows XP, Graphics
  121. must be run in SVGA only, work with
  122. Electronic Coin System, 4 way and 8
  123. Way, 3 button, Joystick configuration,
  124. 16K Sound and able to run 2 players as
  125. well as single player.
